We are so grateful and so lucky to have made our baseyard and Maui Nui home on a small patch of green within ʻUlupalakua Ranch. Our headquarters sit within the ahupuaʻa, or the traditional land unit of Pāpaʻanui—a rich sliver of volcanic slope that runs from the Keonehulu and Keonehunehune hills all the way down the mountain to Nahuna Point at the sea. Pāpaʻanui translates to a big secure enclosure, a homeplace that is fixed, lasting, whole. This place name, this embedded place-memory, helps calls us back to our work and our team time and time again.
