Preferred Cooking Method

Stovetop

Warm on medium heat until the bone broth starts to simmer (1 min and 30 seconds exactly on our gas stove, though your cook time may vary). A simmer is when small bubbles start appearing on the outside of the saucepan.

Microwave

Pour into a microwave safe mug. Heat in 30 second increments to 180 degrees.

In Recipes

Use Bone Broth in your favorite recipes in place of water or stock for added nutrition and taste.

Prep

DEFROSTING

To avoid leaks and messy clean-ups, be sure to defrost Bone Broth on a paper towel-lined plate or bowl. This will help catch any liquid that may leak out during the process of thawing! Never thaw your Bone Broth on the kitchen counter, in the garage, or outdoors. These methods create opportunities for bacteria to grow, leaving your Broth unsafe for consumption.

REFRIGERATOR METHOD

This method is the safest (and easiest) way to thaw your Bone Broth, though it requires some planning. You’ll want to place your Bone Broth in the fridge at least 24 hours before you’re ready to cook it.

COLD WATER METHOD

This is the fastest way to thaw your Bone Broth—it just requires a bit more of your attention. Leave your Bone Broth in its airtight packaging and submerge in a bowl of cold tap water, changing out the water every 30 minutes so it continues to thaw. It’s important to note to cook the Bone Broth immediately once thawed.

GAUGING DONENESS

To check doneness, you can either use a thermometer, checking to make sure it’s at 180 degrees or simmer (1 min and 30 seconds exactly on our gas stove, though your cook time may vary). A simmer is when small bubbles start appearing on the outside of the inside of the saucepan

Extra Tips

Some key things to keep in mind for best results:

Bone Broth is perishable and must be kept frozen. Refrigerate once thawed and use within 3 days.
